Starting the season 0-2 was tough, and the fact that I wasn't playing well made it even worse. Sunday we finally got the W in Gdynia. I played better than I have been and ended up with 18 pts, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Our next game is Sunday at home so I am excited and anticipating a W in front of a big home crowd.
Mimi and poppy made it to the game.. but not until halftime! I put them on a train from my city to Gdynia (8 hour train ride) and prayed that they made it ( they had to switch trains so that made me even more nervous and they have funny stories you will have to ask them). Everything was going as planned until construction made their train 2 hours late. I felt bad that they missed the first half of the game, but I know they were so happy to see the 2nd.
We stayed in Gdynia sunday evening and left around 2 on monday. We were able to go to the aquarium, a very large mall, and saw the Baltic Sea. It was amazing to see all of the ships. Mimi was taking 1000 pictures as usual and accidentally deleted every single one from the trip thus far. When we got back to our hotel I downloaded a software and was able to retrieve them off of the sim card! Thank goodness for technology.
We had an early afternoon train and rode 9 hours back to Lublin. I have never been on a train and thought I would love it..... that lasted about 30 min and I was over it. Luckily my teammate got on a few hours into the trip and it was nice talking with her the rest of the way.

Yesterday while on the train, I found out that one of my favorite people at The University of Akron, Dan Peters "Coach Pete" lost his battle to Pancreatic cancer. He was the director of basketball operations for the Mens team and loved by many. He was honestly the most inspirational, passionate and kind hearted man that I have ever met and I am so lucky to have known him. Whether he was in the gym during practice or in the halls at the JAR, he always had so many positive things to say about everything. You never walked away from a conversation with him without smiling. When visiting him he taught me so many life lessons that I will never forget..........thinking about his family, friends and wishing I was with my Akron family through these tough times. I know that he is watching over all of us. RIP Coach Peters ,I Love You.
Go enjoy time with family and friends because life is too short....
