10 days at home flew by..... I saw just about everyone that I planned to see -parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins, the rest of the family, friends- in that short time and hardly sat down. It was so great to be home and I definitely missed the USA!
Josh and my younger brother Slade (19y.o) came to pick me up at the airport. I had happy tears when I saw Slade for the first time ( sorry Josh, I cried when I saw you in Poland, the tears this time were for Slade:)). We immediately went to Chipotle and met Adam and Shannon- Josh's brother and sister in law. I think I could have eaten 3 bowls and chips and guac.. but only ate one.
I met my niece and she is perfect in every way. My sister looked amazing and she doesn't even look like she just had a baby! My oldest nephew, Koen, who is 6, is growing up so fast. He is cute, smart, caring and honestly the best 6 year old I know. Knox, who is 18 months is an ornery little guy. When I first saw him after being away, he knew exactly who I was and said Hanna with a cute grin. I was nervous since we have communicated only through FaceTime that he wouldn't recognize me, but he did. He is also growing up super fast and next to his baby sister, he seems so big. I am so fortunate to be an aunt and I wouldn't want any other title in the world. I can't wait to be home in 3 months and spend as much time with them as I can. My sister is an amazing mother and I am so proud of everything she has accomplished in her life thus far.
When I saw Oakley - my almost 3 year old Husky, she didn't really know what to think. She sniffed me, licked my face, let me hug her and paced around in circles. I was SO happy to see her and can't wait to play outside with her this summer. She did sleep one whole night in my room - which never happens ( she likes to run around the house from room to room) so I am taking that as she missed me.
I went to a Cavs game with Josh while I was home. LeBron, Kyrie, Love are all awesome. LeBron is my guy though so I of course bought a jersey....which I love! I was also able to catch up with some friends from Akron which is always fun.
While home I of course had to make a trip down to Linden Avenue. As usual you see everyone in the world there, but this time, I didn't mind. I caught up with so many people and probably enjoyed myself too much one night, but it was well worth it!
I went with my best friends from H.S, Alyssa and Jessica to get my bridesmaid dress for Alyssa's wedding. When we hang out and nothing ever changes. They will always be two of my closest friends no matter how far we are from each other.
What else..... oh yea, shopping easton with a few friends - Alyssa Burns, Brandon, JB and Josh to find NYE outfits. It's always a struggle to find a dress for me -Tall, Big booty, small waist, no boobs, thick legs, broad shoulders.... but I did find one at express & I actually liked it.
Christmas Eve and Christmas came and went so quickly. I saw a lot of family, ate great food and spent time with everyone. With all of us getting older things are changing in my family for the holidays... but seeing Koen and Knox open gifts was a perfect start to my Christmas:)
NYE was probably top 10 best nights of my life. We spent the afternoon in columbus and then went to the Hyatt for the party. I Saw so many friends, ate great food and definitely will be back next year!
New years day I headed back to Poland. The goodbye from home was as hard as I expected it to be.... but I realize this is my last go around. 86 days and I will be on a plane back to the US for good... gotta make this time count.----> Oh yea and when I landed in Germany I turned on my phone to see the HUGE BUCKEYE WIN! Hopefully I can get the game on something over here!
I was happy to see my teammates, coaches and other familiar faces in Poland:) I have a game wednesday and saturday this week.. both against very good teams!
what else.....
- I bought a gym membership today---- I get too bored with my spare time so I figured I could go sit in the sauna, ride the bike, jog, idk really anything to entertain myself.
- Its icy and snowy here...... and instead of salt on the ground there is sand. I don't think its really melting the ice and it makes the ground so dirty!! I will never wear my nice nikes outside:/
-I have a made ( and a deadline made) a final decision on what I am doing next fall....................
Ok thats enough, time to get ready for practice #2
