Mimi and poppy are finally here! After much anticipation it was amazing to see them for the first time in 50 some days. I admit I shed a few happy tears and mimi did too:) I tried to beat them to their hotel, and had bought a bouquet of flowers along the way to surprise them.... but they were already checked in. They brought a suitcase full of items I asked for from home. It was a surprise when they had cards and gifts sent from family and some family friends. The little things really do count and I appreciate those who sent them:) We went to dinner and I had practice so left them to get settled and to get some sleep!
Today was their first full day in Lublin. I had lifting and shooting at 10am and I figured they would sleep in (one would think after traveling for 24 hours). When I woke up I called and of course they were already awake! Do old people ever sleep? ;) Joking of course, they act like they are 50 , but they were awake before me, I couldn't believe it.
Anyways, I went to pick them up after practice and Mimi already had 1000 pictures of Old town and had taken poppy all over. They are here for 19 days and I think they saw more of the city than I have in 2 months.... I guess they weren't tired from the plane ride after all ( they have so many funny stories from their journey over here I can't type them all). They are beginning to learn my everyday language struggles and the many cultural differences.
Once I picked them up we came to my "flat" and I made them coffee and hung out for a little while. Mimi needed to go to a "Walmart" so I took her to a big mall with a Walmart type place inside. They were able to see all of the stores, we ate a great lunch and had ice-cream. I now have a microwave ( it was only 50 bucks.. so cheap!) so I obviously bought popcorn too:) It was fun showing them around.
They came to practice this evening and they really enjoyed themselves! It was a good tough practice and we have an off day tomorrow so we will be doing tourist activities...
(((((Basketball)))))
-No game this past weekend---> we had a lot of injuries and a new player came to the team from Bosnia.
-We play again on the 25th, in Gyndia, which next to the Baltic sea. I am going to get train tickets for Mimi and Poppy to come and I will ride the train back with them the next day ( never been on a train, chalk it up on the list for another new experience) I am excited to see and explore Gyndia.
- No negative thoughts and I am feeling good
Ok thats enough I haven't watched one episode of Grey's and I am going through withdrawal for the day.
Missing Zanesville, Akron, Ohio, the USA and everything / everyone there.
Until next time...
